BLAKE FOUND | GRAPHIC DESIGNER

For the probably 90% of you who won’t read following in its entirety, here’s the “CliffsNotes” version of me:

[ Education ] Arizona State University | Visual Communication Design Program
[ Degree ] Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design
[ Current Job ] Communication Links, [Scottsdale, AZ Public Relations firm]
[ Title ] Graphic/Web Designer
[ Hobbies ] Photography, Hiking, Shooting pool, Drinking
[ Pets ] Satan (seriously, the devil disguised as a cute cat named Charlie) & Turtle named Superman

I graduated from Arizona State University in the Visual Communication Design program with a Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design in the summer of 2009. Say that five times fast! I have done various design projects but I have to say my favorite projects are logos. Logos are often very challenging to come up with something innovative, clever, and unique but I like the challenge. A logo is often understated but is one of the most crucial elements of a business’s success and it is awesome thing to be a part of. Then of course there is always the hope that other designers will see it, like it, and wish they had thought of it. It’s a strange selfish urge amongst designers.

While my love is designing for print, I, like many others, recognized the ever growing popularity of digital media and web design and have made a goal of learning various digital methods to be able to accommodate all my client needs.

I currently work for Communication Links, a small public relations firm in Scottsdale, Arizona as “the web guy” and one of two in-house graphic designers. Through this company I have had the amazing opportunity to lead the design of several major websites, one of which, is the official site for the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

I don’t really have too many exciting hobbies to share. I prefer to stay home and relax but sometimes the antics of my satanic cat Charlie urges me to leave and find refuge via photography, hiking, a game of pool, or a trip to 4 Peaks for some cold hefeweizen

My ultimate goal is to move on from the whole freelance gig and own and run a small design firm either here (AZ) or in San Diego where the weather is always nice and where the water is. For now though, I will enjoy and learn from the various freelance projects that come my way.
